In the production process of irradiated cross-linked polyethylene strip, after pre stretching treatment (stretching 30% at 100C, then cooling and coiling), wrapping into joints, heating and retraction, the air gap between the layers of the wrapped strip is compressed, which can improve the air gap discharge voltage. This kind of joint has high partial discharge level and is suitable for making cable joints with high voltage level.
