What are the functions of wire and cable?
The main function of wire and cable is the transmission of electric energy, signals, and electromagnetic conversion, the transmission of electric power such as power cable, overhead line, the transmission of signals such as coaxial cable, electromagnetic conversion such as enameled wire.  Welcome to learn how to identify wire and cable types and uses.
1) Classification of wires and cables
There are many kinds of wire and cable, and all wire and cable products can be divided into five categories according to their performance, structure, and use characteristics.
1) Bare wire: according to the shape, structure, and use of the product, it can be divided into four series: round wire, overhead stranded wire, soft wire, profile wire, and profile wire.
2) Electromagnetic wire: according to the material, structure, heat resistance grade, and use of insulation layer, it can be divided into four categories: enameled wire, fiber wrapped electromagnetic wire, film wrapped electromagnetic wire, and inorganic insulating electromagnetic wire.
3) Power cable: according to the insulation type and structure, it can be divided into oil impregnated paper insulated power cable, plastic insulated power cable rubber insulated power cable, etc.

4) Electrical equipment wire and cable: according to the use characteristics of products can be divided into general wire and cable, electrical equipment and instrumentation wire and cable, transportation wire and cable, geological exploration and mining industry wire and cable, signal control cable, DC high voltage cable.
5) Communication wires and cables: including local telephone cables used for local or local communication networks, long-distance communication cables used for long-distance communication between cities (long-distance symmetric communication cables, coaxial communication cables), local cables, and various communication wires.
(2) the use of wire and cable
Wire and cable are mainly used as coils or windings for power transmission, electrical communication and winding of electrical equipment.
Classification and main uses of 1G415052 insulators
(1) Classification of insulators
Insulators can be divided into high voltage insulators and low voltage insulators according to the voltage used.
Insulators can be divided into porcelain insulators, glass insulators, and organic insulators (epoxy resin casting) according to their manufacturing materials.
Insulators can be divided into indoor insulators and outdoor insulators according to their installation place.
Insulators can be divided into 11 subclasses and 48 series according to their structure and use.
(2) Main uses of insulators
1) Insulators for high voltage lines
High voltage line rigid insulators: including pin type porcelain insulators, porcelain cross arm insulators and butterfly type porcelain insulators, etc.
The ceramic cross arm insulators of the hV line can be divided into four types according to their structure: all-porcelain type, rubber type, single-arm type, and V-type.  According to the installation, the form can be divided into two kinds vertical and horizontal;  According to 50% full-wave impact flashover voltage can be divided into 185kV, 2lOkV, 280kV, 380kV, 450kV, 6lOkV, and other levels.  Used for high voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines, can replace pin type and suspension type insulators, and omit the high pole porcelain pole.
Hv line butterfly porcelain insulators are divided into 6kV and lOkV levels according to rated voltage.
Used for the terminal of overhead transmission and distribution line, like insulation and fixed wire on tensioning and corner rod.  At the same time, it is also widely used in conjunction with the line suspension insulator, as a component of the line fixture, to simplify the fixture structure.
(2) Suspension insulators for high voltage lines: including disc-shaped suspension porcelain insulators, disc-shaped suspension glass insulators, porcelain pull rod insulators and ground wire insulators, etc.
There are two kinds of disc-shaped suspended porcelain insulators for high voltage line: common type and pollution resistant type.  Used for high voltage and ultra high voltage transmission lines for hanging or tensioning conductors and insulating them from tower rods.  Suspension insulators have high mechanical and electrical strength, which can be applied to various voltage levels and intensity requirements through different string groups. They are the most widely used.  The general type is suitable for general industrial areas.  Compared with ordinary insulators,  stain-resistant insulators have a larger creepage distance and are easy to clean by wind and rain. They are suitable for coastal areas, metallurgical powder, chemical pollution, and serious industrial pollution areas.  The stain-resistant insulator can reduce the size of the tower and has great economic value when it is used in the above areas.
The purpose of disc-shaped suspended glass insulators for hV lines is basically the same as that of porcelain insulators for HV lines.  Glass insulators have the characteristics of high mechanical strength, mechanical impact resistance, good thermal and cold performance, long life, excellent electrical performance and lightning resistance, and when damaged in operation, the umbrella plate automatically broke, easy to find, greatly reduce the workload of insulation detection.
Porcelain tie rod insulators for high voltage lines are used on terminal tensioning and corner rods of overhead power lines up to and including lOkV for insulation and wire fixing.  It can replace some butterfly-type porcelain insulators and disc-type suspended porcelain insulators.

2) Low voltage line insulator
① Pin type, butterfly type, and shaft type porcelain insulators for the low-voltage line: pin type porcelain insulators for the low-voltage line are used as insulation and fixed wire in overhead power lines below 1kV.  Used as insulation and fixed wire for low voltage line butterfly insulator for power supply and distribution line terminals, tensioning and corner rod.  Low voltage line shaft type porcelain insulator for power supply and distribution line terminals, tensioning and corner rod as insulation and fixed wire.
(2) Tension porcelain insulators for overhead lines: used for ac and DC overhead transmission and distribution lines and communication lines terminal corner or long span pole to balance the tension of the pole, used for tension insulation and connection.
(3) Insulators for trolley lines: used as insulation and tensioning wires for trolley lines or as insulation and support for conducting parts in electric trolleys and power stations.
④ Communication wire pin type porcelain insulator: used for insulating and fixing wires in overhead communication lines.
(5) Insulators for wiring: including drum insulators, porcelain splints and porcelain tubes, etc.  Used for low voltage wiring.
3) Insulators for high voltage power stations
① High-voltage indoor pillar insulators for power stations: used for busbars and distribution devices of electrical equipment in indoor power stations and substations with rated power-frequency voltage of 6-35kV.  As insulating support for high voltage conducting parts.  It is generally installed at an altitude is not more than 1000m, the ambient temperature is -40 ~ 40℃, and should be free from pollution and condensation under the condition of use, specially designed plateau type can be used in the altitude of 3000m and 5000m areas.
② Outdoor pin post insulators: they are suitable for insulation and fixed conductor of electrical appliances or power distribution devices with rated AC voltage of 3-220kV, the ambient temperature of -40 ℃ ~ +40℃, and altitude not more than 1000m.
Outdoor pole post insulators: used for high voltage electrical appliances and high voltage distribution devices, like insulation and fixed conductor.  It has largely replaced the use of outdoor pin post insulators.
(4) Anti-pollution outdoor rod type pillar insulator: suitable for covering salt density within 0.1mg/cm2 of the medium pollution area, as the insulation and fixation of high voltage appliances and power distribution devices.
(5) high-pressure wall bushing: including indoor wall bushing, outdoor wall bushing, bus bushing, and oil-paper capacitive wall bushing, etc.
⑥ Electrical porcelain cover: including transformer porcelain cover, switch porcelain cover, transformer porcelain cover.
