Virtual meeting between President XiJinping and U.S.President Joe Biden

BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping had a virtual meeting with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday. The two sides had thorough and in-depth communication and exchanges on issues of strategic, overarching and fundamental importance shaping the development of China-US relations and on important issues of mutual interest. 
-- The two Presidents agreed that their meeting is candid, constructive, substantive and productive.

-- The meeting helps increase mutual understanding, adds to the positive expectation of the international community for this relationship, and sends a powerful message to the two countries and the world.

President Xi pointed out that both China and the US are at critical stages of development, and  the "global village" of humanity faces multiple challenges. As the world's two largest economies and permanent members of the UN Security Council, China and the US need to increase communication and cooperation, each run their domestic affairs well and, at the same time, shoulder their share of international responsibilities, and work together to advance the noble cause of world peace and development. This is the shared desire of the people of the two countries and around the world, and the joint mission of Chinese and American leaders.
In the company of the heads of state who kissed at the wedding, the two parties held a responsible date that would not bring conflicts to "old friends." . Biden pointed to areas that will be targeted, including human rights and issues in the Indo-Pacific region.

Xi Jinping was willing to agree at the meeting, "I said Mr. President, choose action and act proactively, and Sino-US relations will move forward actively."
He also pointed out that "China and the United States, as the world's two largest economies and permanent members of the UN Security Council, should strengthen communication and cooperation", not only to handle their respective domestic affairs, but also to assume their due international responsibilities.

Biden was sitting at a conference table in the Roosevelt Room of the White House. When Xi Jinping appeared on the big screen, he smiled and said, "Maybe I should start more formally. I have never been so formal between you and me. "He also said, "You and I have already talked about this-all countries must abide by the same rules."

According to the live video, the Chinese side who accompanied Xi Jinping to the video meeting were Ding Xuexiang, Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, Liu He, Vice Premier of the State Council, Yang Jiechi, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. 
After the two heads of state reached a consensus during the meeting, it is necessary for the two governments to implement it quickly. Therefore, the attendance of relevant working levels of both parties is very important.

Boosted by the optimism of the first video meeting between China and the US dollar, the market's willingness to do more RMB has increased significantly. The offshore RMB has broken through the 6.37 yuan mark, and the RMB against the US dollar hit a five-and-a-half-month high in early trading on Tuesday.

The video meeting between Xi Jinping and Biden started at 8:46 a.m. Beijing time today and ended at 12:24 a.m., in the first half and the second half. Since the beginning of this year, the heads of state of China and the United States have conducted two phone calls in February and September respectively.
